The Delegated Committee on Strategy and the Coordination Committee of ALINNE held their first joint meeting on Wednesday, January 16. The new activities of the Energy Alliance for 2019 were decided during this meeting.
On November 28, the European Commission presented the document "A Clean Planet for all" which includes the long-term strategy against Climate Change in the European Union (EU). Within this vision, Carbon capture, Uses and Storage technologies (CCUS technologies) have been included as one of the seven strategic areas that should be developed together to achieve the path towards a Climate Neutral Economy.
Britain’s first carbon capture project has kicked off at the Drax renewable energy plant in North Yorkshire, with the aim of retrieving one tonne of CO2 a day from the gases produced by the country's biggest power station.
